Do Windows Vista Defender Firewall overlap with Norton Protection Center, AVG AntiVirus, Ad-Aw

I am wondering which of these softwares I should keep, or which ones I can remove if the functionalities overlap.

PS: I am using the Norton software but have not paid the license yet, so do not have full functionality.

IMO, Norton is useless. Up until awhile ago they even had some security holes that (afaik and thankfully) were not found and abused.

The newest Ad-Aware had some bugs with it in Vista so unless they've fixed it I would just keep it around rather than use it. Windows Defender/Firewall do 'overlap' with AVG I suppose, but regardless of what some people might think, that isn't neccesarilly a bad thing. I have AVG, Defender+Firewall, Ad-Aware and Spybot and haven't had an issue yet. Just make sure that when you run scans only one is program is scanning at a time.

i'd use this tool http://files6.majorgeeks.com/files/82bdd...

and remove norton as it's just a trial and AVG actually is higher rated...

Don't remove AdAware or Spybot...both of them are the highest rated progams for Adware %26 Spyware removal ...

be sure to update them every couple of weeks, or just before using them, if you need to use them
